Winning hands in Cribbage Video Poker are based on “TOTAL POINTS” compared to the standard ranking system in Video Poker. The object in Cribbage Video Poker is to obtain as many points per round as possible. The higher the total points, the more credits you will be awarded. In Video Poker, you must get Jacks or Better to win. In Cribbage Video Poker, you must get 7 Points or Better to win. How to Play Cribbage Video Poker with the Star Strategy System

BETTING.
Bet 1 or Max Bet (5 coins) to Start. The computer will deal five initial cards. Four are dealt face-up and one is concealed. The concealed card (5th card) is called the “CUT CARD” and is exposed at the end of the round.

DRAW.
Once the initial cards are dealt, a yellow star will instantly appear under the cards the Star Strategy System has chosen. With the help of the Star Strategy System, novice players will have the opportunity of obtaining a winning hand just like the veteran players. After viewing the four initial cards, just left click the cards you wish to keep. As in standard Video Poker, the word “HELD” will appear. After holding the desired cards, press the Deal/Draw button as you would in standard Video Poker. The Star Strategy System was developed with optimum strategy to help you learn the game while assisting them in achieving a winning hand.

THE FINAL HAND:
After pressing the Deal/Draw button, the computer will deal the replacement cards including the CUT CARD, compute the total points and award a payout for any winning hand.

Basic Strategy on Scoring Points
Learning how to score points in Cribbage Video Poker is very simple. The same hands you see in regular Video Poker are also used in Cribbage Video Poker. In Cribbage Video Poker flushes have been eliminated. Concentrating on cards of the same suit alters the player's strategy for achieving the most points possible and slows down the game. Eliminating the suit factor makes the game much easier to learn and play.
Two points are earned for each separate combination of two or more cards totaling exactly 15. The #1 card in Cribbage Video Poker is a 5. As four out of every thirteen cards have a value of 10, there is a good chance that a 5 will help form 15’s.
A Run or straight consists of three or more consecutive cards. One point is awarded for each card within the run. A double run (consisting of a pair within a run, example 6-6-7-8) is worth a minimum 8 points. A triple run (consisting of a 3 of a kind within a run, example 6-6-6-7-8) is worth a minimum 15 points. In Cribbage Video Poker aces can count as high or low when pertaining to a run (A-2-3 or A-K-Q). Remember, A-K-Q-J-10 is a valid run but is only worth 5 points making it a non winner.

Pairs, Trips and Quads.

Two points are awarded for a pair of the same rank.

Six points are awarded for three cards of the same rank.

Twelve points are awarded for four cards of the same rank.
